Learning Experience Designer

Smartsheet is seeking a learning professional to join our Smartsheet University team as a Learning Experience Designer. The ideal candidate will have an extensive portfolio of learning products that have solved real business and customer problems. As a Learning Experience Designer, you’ll put our customers above all else and have a passion for creating innovative learning solutions. You’ll work on a driven and supportive team with ownership over our customer facing learning products. Strong graphic design skills and technical savvy  are essential, and of course becoming a certified Smartsheet user is critical to your success.

This essential role is part of the Support team and will report directly to the Manager, Smartsheet Curriculum Development. 

You will:

  • Design and develop creative, customer-centric, performance-based training materials
  • Manage learning product development projects including scoping, managing SMEs, and working with other departments to deliver products on time, every time
  • Work collaboratively with our Training Team to create storyboards/scripts and production ready content
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and work with SMEs to ensure that learning products meet those needs
  • Contribute to and improve our training style guides
  • Analyze learning data and make recommendations to improve quality, behavioral impact, and recommend new learning product offerings
  • Stay current on new learning approaches, behavioral science, technology, and tools and apply that knowledge to our learning products
  • Serve as support for the Learning Management System (LMS). Help to maintain systems, create user profiles, create usage reports, publish SCORM, video, and other digital content, etc.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience in instructional design and content development
  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and Camtasia
  • Experience with video production for training and micro-learning
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • A portfolio of eLearning, video, and graphic design projects. Portfolio should reflect strong graphic design skills and attention to detail with a sophisticated and clean aesthetic.
  • Ability to scope, design, prototype, test, build, and launch digital training
  • Experience planning for and analyzing data-driven learning experiencesProven experience collaborating with subject matter experts in a SaaS or tech company
  • LMS administration experience, including eLearning publishing and learning assessments.
  • Knowledge of web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript).

 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with written (writing and editing) and spoken language.

Smartsheet provides a competitive range of compensation for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. 

California & New York: $86,400 to $129,600
All other US States: $80,000 to $120,000
