Manager, DevOps Engineering (Remote - US)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC). We are currently looking for a Manager, DevOps Engineering in the United States.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Manager of DevOps Engineering to lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering and optimizing cloud-based technology platforms. In this role, you will drive innovation, establish best practices, and oversee the operational excellence of DevOps initiatives. You will collaborate with product teams, solution architects, and enterprise engineers to ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The role requires strong leadership in coaching and developing technical teams, guiding architecture decisions, and aligning engineering practices with business goals. You will influence technology strategy while ensuring that cloud platforms meet current and future needs. This is a highly visible position with a significant impact on technology delivery and operational efficiency.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage the DevOps Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement DevOps processes, procedures, and best practices for cloud platform delivery and optimization.
  • Develop team members by providing resources, guidance, and professional growth opportunities to maintain expertise in modern DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with product teams, solution architects, and enterprise support engineers to align technology solutions with business requirements.
  • Ensure supportability, scalability, and recovery for cloud-based solutions while monitoring resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee department planning, budgeting, recruiting, and performance management of team members.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance engineering capabilities and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 5+ years of AWS cloud administration experience, including cost reporting, optimization, and management.
  • 3+ years of experience managing, coaching, and developing technical teams.
  • Strong experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Git-based source code management.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to define non-functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Proven skills in system administration, triaging events, and creating after-action reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technology strategy and drive best practices across teams.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for mentoring peers and advancing engineering excellence.
