About the role

The External Reporting Manager leads The Nuclear Company's external financial reporting readiness, building public-company-caliber reporting processes ahead of large capital raises and eventual public and institutional reporting obligations. This role prepares board- and investor-grade financial reporting packages, takes a leadership role with the external audit firm, and owns international/IFRS statutory reporting. The ideal candidate balances rigorous technical accuracy with the pace of an early-stage, fast-growing company. 

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining external financial reporting infrastructure and disclosure controls 
  • Drafting technical accounting/reporting memos supporting reporting positions 
  • Preparing quarterly/annual reporting packages for the board and investors 
  • Managing the external audit relationship for financial statements included in reporting packages 
  • Monitoring emerging GAAP/SEC guidance relevant to JV and energy infrastructure accounting 
  • Supporting due diligence and reporting for major capital raises 
  • Utilize AI-powered tools to accelerate disclosure drafting, identify inconsistencies across reporting packages, and benchmark disclosures against peer companies and evolving regulatory requirements 

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience including public accounting (Big 4/national firm) plus statutory reporting 
  • Active CPA required 
  • Hands-on 10-K/10-Q drafting experience 
  • Strong technical GAAP knowledge 
  • Experience with a disclosure management tool (e.g., Workiva) or equivalent 

Preferred Experience

  • Equity-method/JV reporting experience 
  • Prior experience in the energy or infrastructure sector 
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools for financial close automation, variance analysis, or disclosure review to improve reporting speed and accuracy in a high-growth environment

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
