Redfin Corporation

Director - Product, Rentals

$220,500 – $330,000 per year

TLDR

Shape a rentals marketplace across three sites, connecting renter search with property-manager inventory and the path from renting to buying.

This posting will be open until September 30, 2026. Applications received after this date may not be considered.

Rentals is one of Redfin's biggest growth opportunities. Across Redfin, Rent.com, and ApartmentGuide.com, millions of renters rely on us to find their next place. Renters need us more than most: they're often earlier in their real estate journey, less experienced, and without the guidance of an agent that buyers enjoy. They rely on the websites and apps they trust to guide them to a home for rent, and how well we serve them shapes whether they come back. And they do come back, because today's renter is tomorrow's buyer and homeowner. Every renter we help find a home is a future customer we can guide through their entire real estate journey.

A great rentals marketplace has two sides. One is the renter experience: search, discovery, and easily contacting properties. The other is inventory, or the listings that make the search worth doing. We're building both. Alongside the consumer experience, we're standing up a new multi-family business that brings property management companies onto our platform and grows the inventory we can show renters.

That's where you come in. We're looking for a talented product leader to own rentals on Redfin and across our family of sites and to help build this new business from the ground up. You'll set the strategy for how renters discover and land their next home, lead and grow a team of four product managers who together own the entire rentals experience, and partner with the business owner of our multi-family business to define the product for property management companies, how it works, and how we win.  You'll also own how renters become buyers on Redfin and the experience for everyday homeowners who as landlords use Redfin to find a renter and fill their vacant property.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Product, Rentals and AI.

About the role

Renter experience

  • Set the product strategy for rentals across Redfin, Rent.com, and ApartmentGuide.com on web and apps

  • Own the rentals roadmap end-to-end, from search and discovery to re-engagement and contacting properties

  • Build the bridge from renting to buying, making Redfin the natural next step for renters ready to become homeowners

  • Own a set of rentals growth and engagement metrics, guide the team to experiments that answer real questions, and use the results to inform rollouts and next steps

Property manager + landlord experience

  • Define and launch the product roadmap for property management companies, including listing and syndication, lead quality and delivery, reporting, advertising, and the tools that make us the platform of choice

  • Turn that partnership into inventory growth, expanding the supply of units renters see

  • Partner with the GM of multi-family to make sure what we’re building is something that we can sell, market, and support

  • Improve the self-service experience for Redfin homeowners posting their property for rent, making it easier for non-professionals to list and fill their vacancy for free

Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of four product managers who own the rentals experience across the sites and apps

  • Make the hard calls on where the team invests, and be clear about what we're not doing

  • Keep execs and business stakeholders aligned with clear updates on strategy, tradeoffs, results, and what's next

About you

  • Passionate about Redfin's mission and excited to shape the future of renting.

  • 10+ years of product management experience delivering consumer web and mobile products at scale.

  • 4+ years leading and developing Product Managers, with a track record of building high-performing teams and growing future leaders.

  • Experienced in building B2B, marketplace, or supply-side products, with a strong understanding of the distinct needs of business customers and end users.

  • Proven success leading 0-to-1 initiatives, including launching new products, business lines, or growth opportunities in partnership with GMs, Sales, or Operations leaders.

  • Strategic and execution-oriented, able to define a multi-quarter vision while helping teams navigate complex product decisions.

  • Strong business and analytical acumen, using customer insights, experimentation, and data to drive decisions and outcomes.

  • Exceptional cross-functional leader who aligns executives, engineering, design, operations, and go-to-market teams around a shared strategy.

  • Deeply customer-centric, with a passion for understanding user behavior and translating insights into impactful products.

  • Confident in making decisions with incomplete information with a combination of data-driven analysis and product judgment.

  • AI-native preferred. Leverages AI tools to accelerate product development, decision-making, and team effectiveness.
