Position Summary:

The Manager/Senior Manager, Sustainability & Social Impact is a key member of the ESG team at Ultragenyx. They will work as a strategic partner to execute the ESG agenda. They will lead efforts to baseline environmental footprint data including greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water, and waste within our boundaries and supply chain. They will establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the company to explore improvement opportunities and develop and execute plans to improve our ESG performance. They will be responsible for supporting ESG reporting and implementation efforts by mapping projects’ timelines and milestones to ensure deliverables and projects are on time and on target.  

Work Model:

Flex: can complete work from home during the pandemic; once return to the office 2-3 days in office to be expected and established with manager

Responsibilities:

• Drive effective execution of the annual ESG reporting including data collection, reporting writing, editing, validation, and design.
• Lead efforts to baseline environmental footprint data including greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water, and waste within Ultragenyx’s boundaries and supply chain.
• Manage, track, and update key performance indicators relevant to internal targets and external goals and ensure timely and accurate data capture.
• Proactively collaborate with departments and subject matter experts to prioritize and implement ESG plans with defined objectives and targets.
• Manage the launch and operations of UltraGreen teams and employee engagement.
• Coordinate with and provide support to internal employee resource groups to define the impact of the groups’ activities and quantify any measurable indicators.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience in ESG and Sustainability
• Experience with climate disclosure standards (such as CDP and TCFD)
• Knowledge of how a Greenhouse has inventory is developed and verified and understanding of Scopes 1, 2, and 3, and supply chain emissions
• Experience with sustainability reporting (SASB, GRI, S&P CSA)
• Passion for sustainability and data analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage projects
