Manufacturing Operations Manager – Lean Manufacturing & Operational Excellence
TLDR
Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement across plating, grinding, and finishing operations to boost throughput, reduce lead times, and improve on-time delivery.
- Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across all hard chrome plating, grinding, repair, and finishing operations.
- Assess production capacity across stripping, masking, plating, baking, grinding, and finishing operations.
- Analyze current-state workflows and develop future-state processes to improve throughput, reduce lead times, and increase On-Time Delivery performance.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing tools, including Gemba, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Kaizen.
- Develop KPI dashboards focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
- Reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and improve operational performance.
- Coach and develop supervisors and production personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business results.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations related to chemical handling, waste disposal, and air quality.
- 5+ years leading manufacturing operations in metal finishing, machining, aerospace, industrial repair, or related environments.
- Proven success improving throughput, capacity utilization, and On-Time Delivery.
- Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience implementing KPI-driven performance management systems.
- Proficiency with Lean tools, including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience managing KPIs, production metrics, labor utilization, and operational performance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and surface finish specifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
