MarketWatch Analyst

TLDR

Monitor equity markets in real time, investigate unusual trading patterns, manage trade breaks and suspensions, and draft referrals for suspected market abuse.

As a MarketWatch Analyst you'll play a critical role in protecting the integrity of equity markets — monitoring trading activity in real time, identifying potential risks, and ensuring our markets operate fairly and transparently.

You'll thrive in this role if you're detail-oriented, composed under pressure, and bring genuine curiosity and commitment to market oversight and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor equity trading activity in real time, identifying unusual price movements, suspicious patterns, and order book anomalies.

  • Review automated surveillance alerts and material disclosures from listed companies, escalating issues to the appropriate teams when needed.

  • Intervene in trading activity when required, including managing trade breaks and trading suspensions.

  • Draft preliminary referrals for suspected market abuse or disciplinary matters, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Partner with the broader team to fulfill regulatory responsibilities and contribute to special projects that strengthen market oversight.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, trading operations, or a related area.

  • Strong understanding of equity markets and trading mechanisms.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated financial services or fintech environment.

  • Familiarity with surveillance platforms or market data tools.

  • Exposure to cross-functional teams in global or multicultural settings.

This position will be located in Philadelphia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
