MassChallenge Mexico - Partnerships Coordinator

MassChallenge Mexico seeks a high-energy, sales-oriented partnerships professional to manage its partnerships and account management function. This function is charged with generating revenue for the organization from existing and new sponsors, in addition to delivering high quality and value to existing sponsors. Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, the Partnerships Account Coordinator will have goals related to partnerships team success in developing leads, closing sponsorships, and managing client relationships in a hands-on fashion.

The candidate will want to leverage his or her demonstrated sales and management experience in a mission-driven, startup-oriented company. A successful candidate will bring a dynamic style and outcome-oriented approach to sales. They will also be passionate about both the startup community and working with a growing team in Mexico City.
In keeping with MassChallenge’s values, the Partnerships Account Coordinator will have the opportunity to regularly interact with MassChallenge startups and alumni in order to help create value for our sponsors and partners in the community. Corporations, governments, foundations, and philanthropists provide the funding for the program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Revenue Generation
- Research, identify and develop leads into prospects
- Create and share effective sales proposals featuring MassChallenge’s model and past successes for solving corporate innovation and strategy needs
- Assist the Director of Partnerships in engaging with executives and decision makers to maximize all opportunities to close a sale
- Drive sales operations, ensuring targets are being met
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records of sales and prospecting activities in Salesforce.com
- Relationship Management
- Effectively manage all aspects of corporate relationships with corporate development, strategy, and innovation teams
- Oversee logistics related to client accounts
- Create a culture of high service, high support, and high expectations in working with corporate partners as needed.
- Plan and manage complex joint projects with partners
- Assist in designing strategies to engage the MassChallenge community to create opportunities for entrepreneurs and other important stakeholders
- Collaborate with MassChallenge team members in marketing, operations, events, and mentorship to ensure effective service delivery and to integrate the team into our strategy
- Develop long-term, strategic business relationships with existing and new partners, with an eye towards trends and changes in the world of entrepreneurship
- Work closely with the MassChallenge Mexico team to ensure alignment to revenue goals and strategy
- Collaborate across departments and teams to ensure that MassChallenge Mexico’s innovation and engagement programs strategically align with the startups in the program
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ad-hoc projects as needed
- High-level of flexibility, and a willingness to work long days and non-traditional hours
- Minimum 2-3 years account management experience in the field of entrepreneurship, technology, PR, or advertising
- Strong understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystem in Mexico City
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication (fluency in English and Spanish mandatory), and customer relationship-building skills, across multiple levels of management.
- Goal-oriented, ambitious, self-starter, detail oriented and passionate
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Knowledge of design software like InDesign a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree typical and preferred
- In-depth knowledge of corporate innovation and strategy trends
- Leadership of the day-to-day management of partner accounts, including analyzing the ongoing performance of partnership success
- A consummate networker who is able to move comfortably and credibly in the community
- A professional, hands-on, resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, and to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time, all the while managing the sales pipeline
- Ability to collaborate across teams to support startups and resolve issues
- Enjoy working in a fluid, dynamic organization with a minimal amount of direction
- Exemplary skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel required
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com (or a similar system) required
