Mechanical Test Technician

€3.000 – €4.000 per month

TLDR

Conduct high-stakes material testing, assemble test setups, and analyze results across extreme pressure and microscopy in a collaborative engineering environment.

About the role

Join Strohm as Our Next Mechanical Test Technician!

Are you ready for a technical challenge where you use both your hands and your mind?

At Strohm, we conduct tests that push boundaries. Think of inflating composite pipes under extreme pressure or pushing them to their limits until they implode. As a Test Technician, you play a key role in these innovative projects, where safety, precision, and technical expertise are central.

In this role, you are responsible for preparing and executing tests on composite materials and structures. You work closely with engineers to develop new technical solutions. One day, you’ll be building a complex test setup; the next, you’ll be configuring data loggers or analyzing test results to gain valuable insights.

At Strohm, we combine the power of technology and craftsmanship to set new standards in the composite industry. Do you want to work on tests that shape the future of composite technology? Then we would love to meet you!

In this role, you will:

  • Mechanical testing: Testing material strength using tensile and compression machines and performing PQS tests according to specific standards;
  • Extreme pressure testing: Inflating pipes up to 3000 bar and conducting destructive tests to determine material and structural limits;
  • Microscopy: Using advanced equipment to detect delamination, air bubbles, and other structural deviations;
  • Test setup assembly: Installing test setups such as climate chambers and pressure pumps;
  • Data acquisition: Configuring data loggers, analyzing test results, and monitoring long-term tests;
  • Quality control: Assessing test samples and reporting deviations such as delamination or damage;
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborating with test engineers to resolve technical challenges;
  • Maintenance: Performing preventive maintenance on equipment and carrying out minor repairs.

What you bring:

  • A technical MBO diploma or equivalent level;
  • Experience or interest in mechanical testing, microscopy, and technical systems;
  • A precise and structured working style, essential when testing under extreme conditions;
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written);
  • IT skills, particularly in MS Office (Excel);
  • Strong safety awareness and a proactive attitude.

You are a good fit if you:
  • Enjoy technical challenges and complex testing environments;
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team;
  • Have a keen eye for detail and work accurately, whether preparing samples or analyzing data;
  • Are innovative and like to contribute ideas for improving test processes;
  • Enjoy hands-on work while also analyzing technical data;
  • Are not afraid of the unknown and take initiative in solving problems.

Why join us?

  • Salary between €3,000 and €4000, depending on experience and qualifications;
  • 32 vacation days per year (based on a 40-hour workweek);
  • A pension scheme through Strohm and a mental well-being program;
  • Discount on a gym membership;
  • Company bike lease plan;
  • Travel allowance or NS Business Card;
  • A full-time position (40 hours per week);
  • The opportunity to be part of an innovative and dynamic company with global impact.
You will be part of our day shift (07:30 – 16:00) and work in a team where technology, innovation, and collaboration go hand in hand.
