Their main function is to carry out detailed measurements and analyses using advanced instruments and technologies. Their work is essential in various fields, from manufacturing to scientific research.
Key responsibilities:
- Calibration: Perform tests, adjustments, and calibrations of measuring instruments (dimensional, thermal, electrical, mass, etc.).
- Calibration Control: Ensure that all measuring equipment in the area operates within permissible tolerances and has current labels or identifications.
- Data Analysis: Interpret technical drawings, apply geometric tolerances (GD&T), and conduct statistical studies (such as repeatability and reproducibility R&R).
- Standards Management: Maintain and update metrological documentation according to the requirements of quality standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
- Standard Maintenance: Safeguard, control, and verify the condition of master instruments and reference standards.
- Compliance and monitoring of the metrics established by the organization.
