NESN Grand Slam Training Series (Externship Program)

Do you want to work for two of the most iconic franchises in all of sports? Come to NESN and work with the most talented broadcasting teams in the country.
Position Summary:
NESN’s Externship Program is an opportunity for students to build on their professional development skills while gaining exposure to various departments within the company. Participants will commit to an 8-week program consisting of 1-hour virtual sessions every week. Sessions are designed to help program participants develop a comprehensive understanding of each business area and the overall industry. Participants are then encouraged to stay connected to NESN via a mentorship opportunity.
Through this program, you will be able to:
- Explore various departments within NESN as well as different types of positions/occupations
- Learn from the stories of successful NESN employees
- Practice communicating in a professional environment and delivering a strong elevator pitch
- Increase knowledge and comfort with career readiness topics, including writing effective resumes and cover letters, applying for internships, interviewing, networking, and professional etiquette
- Begin to identify and articulate your unique skills, strengths, and interests
Requirements:
For you to be considered for the program you must submit your application and
- Resume including your anticipated graduated date and major
- A cover letter that answers:
- What are some of your career interest and goals?
- Why should you receive an opportunity to join NESN’s externship program?
- What you are most excited about learning through our externship program?
Qualifications:
- Completing a BA/BS degree in Media Arts, production. Journalism, Broadcasting, or other related degrees (Must be currently Enrolled)
- Enthusiasm for learning and commitment to career development
- Strong interest in television production and digital industry
- Knowledgeable about the game of Baseball and Hockey and more importantly about the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins
- Change management and innovative mindset, demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Versatility, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity
- Must embrace the NESN Core Values; People, Customer Focus, Adaptability, Teamwork, Diversity, Integrity, Accountability, Passion and Social Responsibility
