AT SONDER YOU WILL:

  • Project manage a broad array of Interior Design projects and initiatives (e.g., large installations, hotels, new market launches)
  • Manage throughput for the Interior Design team; prioritize design projects across Sonder markets, own the design queue, and track SLAs
  • Manage daily team operations to ensure designers and cities are constantly on track to meet our ambitious growth goals
  • Work closely with city teams to ensure they have the resources and support needed to gather and share project information with Interior Design
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop the right tools and systems needed to support scale
  • Scope and implement operations improvement projects for the Interior Design team (e.g., leading cross-functional initiatives, analyzing performance data and holding stakeholders accountable to metrics)
  • Build and manage strong relationships with vendors and design partners
  • Support the Senior Manager of Interior Design in managing, hiring, and developing a world-class interior design team
  • Report directly to the Senior Manager of Interior Design

WHAT WE LOOK FOR (SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES):

  • Passion for design and beautiful spaces; you don’t need to be a designer, but you need to love design
  • Right- and left-brained orientation; you process the world visually, spatially, and analytically
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, ideally with some experience in an early-mid-stage startup with an operations focus
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in at any level, whether it’s negotiating a new partnership or calling Home Depot to order rug tape
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all types of people; you should feel just as comfortable presenting information to a VP as you do chatting with a painting subcontractor
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as focus on the smallest details in operations management; you’re a systems thinker who loves getting in the weeds
  • Hyper-organized; you never let things fall through the cracks
  • People describe you as “the most accountable person they know;” your word is bond and you set team standards when it comes to dependable, high-quality execution
  • An expert relationship builder with experience in cross-functional stakeholder management; you’re able to make tough calls and enforce design standards for the company, all while building alignment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; you love all aspects of building towards an ideal product or system, including the early stages of prototyping via highly manual processes
  • Great sense of humor and ability to take trials and errors in stride
  • Ability to think both strategically as well as execute; top-tier strategy consulting experience a plus
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous tasks and independent projects in the absence of defined processes or systems; you’re a self-starter who needs little direction
  • Strong analytical background and comfort with spreadsheet modeling
  • Background in art or art history a plus

We also have great benefits to make your life easier so you can focus on what you're best at:

• Competitive salary
