Payroll / Accounts Officer

An exciting new role has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer and Accounts all rounder to join our team based in Rosebery.

Reporting into the People & Culture Manager with a dotted line into our Head of Finance your role will primarily encompass Payroll, Accounts receivables/payables and general Admin duties and will suit someone who has a strong attention to detail and experience, together with a can-do attitude.

This role is working approximately 5 days per week, onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process weekly & fortnightly end-to-end payroll for all employees using Heropay (approx. 300 staff)
• Interpret and apply employment related agreements and awards, policies, and procedures, to payroll related matters including salary, leave entitlements and conditions
• Ensure all invoices & payments are processed in a timely & accurate manner 
• Using accounting software to categorise payable entries 
• Manage payroll year end closing
• Manage workers compensation
• Ad hoc project and administration tasks

Requirements

• Solid Payroll experience with knowledge of award interpretation
• Experienced using Heropay or similar software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of the broader team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
• Honesty, integrity and discretion
