PCB Design Engineer
TLDR
Own schematic capture and high-density PCB layout for next-gen wearable hardware, including RF tuning, tight form-factor layouts, and close collaboration with CM partners.
About Omi
Omi is building wearable AI hardware that lives on you and works with you. Our devices are small, worn all day, and packed with sensors — which means our PCBs are some of the most constrained boards you will ever design.
The Role
Part-time PCB Design Engineer based in or near Shenzhen. Own schematic capture and PCB layout for our next-gen wearable hardware, from first spin to production. Remote with occasional on-site sessions at our factory in Shenzhen.
What you will do
Schematic capture and high-density PCB layout in KiCad
Design compact multilayer boards (4-8+ layers) with aggressive area and height constraints
Antenna layout and RF tuning for BLE and other wireless protocols
Signal integrity and impedance-controlled routing
DFM review and collaboration with CM partners in Shenzhen
What we are looking for
Strong KiCad experience — required
Proven track record with 4+ layer boards in tight form factors (wearables, earbuds, IoT)
Antenna design and RF layout experience
Flex or rigid-flex PCB design a strong plus
Experience working with Shenzhen manufacturers
Benefits
Remote-Friendly
Remote with occasional on-site sessions at our factory in Shenzhen.
Omi is developing advanced wearable AI hardware that seamlessly integrates into your daily life, functioning as a personal assistant with a voice-first interface.
