This role is a 12 month, fixed term contract, ideally starting in April 23. It covers our Seasonal range which includes the product portfolio of Calendars, Cards & Gifting.
The impact you’ll make within the team:
- Own the strategy and oversee the execution of the Seasonal product category for the group.
- You’ll define the standards for product quality, and develop clear guidelines to ensure we consistently deliver on these standards by collaborating with key stakeholders across the business
- Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure the strategy is understood and executed, working closely with Digital Product, Product Marketing and Manufacturing, Fulfilment, Commercial and others.
- You’ll be passionate about our products and the value they offer to customers, you’re goal oriented and focussed on delivering best in class customer experiences.
You’ll be responsible for leading the Seasonal Physical Product strategy for the group
- Create and evolve the Seasonal Physical Product Strategy
- Market and competitive research, provide a single source of truth to the organisation on overall Market position, setting the agenda for further research to enrich our knowledge
- Clearly present our position on current market offer fit and performance- setting the key metrics for success (Customer satisfaction, business performance, product quality)
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure we have the required resources able to prioritise work on your category to deliver the strategy.
- Recommend investments/ product opportunities as input to the annual OKR process
- Set the foundation for continuous improvements via a testing and learning framework to inform future decisions for the category
- Identify and execute improvements to our physical products to help us move closer towards our sustainability goals
- In collaboration with Product Marketing, develop product positioning and storylines- ensuring the development and communications teams fully understand what needs the products satisfy for customers, how the products are differentiated in the market, and what communications strategies will resonate with customers
- Product quality management
- Set the quality specifications for Seasonal products,
- Monitor customer and competitive feedback on quality, highlighting areas for improvement between digital, fulfilment and manufacturing teams
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure physical products meet quality specifications consistently
- Support manufacturing in validating changes in supplies/materials or manufacturing techniques that can impact quality or consistency of standards
- New Product Innovation and Introduction
- From your strategy define the optimum product range and architecture, in the short term harmonisation across the group will be a key focus area which will involve both delisting products as well as introducing existing products into new brands within our portfolio of brands, you will lead the Harmonisation for your category
- Manage the cross functional introduction process with support from project managers
- Packaging Strategy and Standards
- Set the quality standards of packaging across all manufacturing sites, working with Quality and Manufacturing teams to identify and implement improvements
- Collaborate with the packaging technology team to ensure standards set deliver an enhanced unboxing experience
- Drive the packaging agenda to ensure sustainability, quality and branding are optimised over time
- Customer creation experience
- Input into the digital product, manufacturing, fulfilment and marketing teams to improve site end to end flows, product content, product specific components, editor features, configuration flows, X-sell set-ups etc.
Requirements
Must Have Experience:
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written with strong communication and influencing skills
- Candidate must have minimum 3 years of experience in pan-European / global eCommerce environments
- Strong understanding of strategy, research, product development and innovation, range architecture and product positioning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into useful insights
- Demonstrated experience working on cross functional projects within a complex organisation.
- Strong executional & communication skills- an ability to synthesise information, to break a problem into its component parts, to prioritise by value, to efficiently manage a meeting, to communicate decisions clearly and effectively
- An understanding of the process to enable change - Harmonisation, Innovation and Simplification between departments, Product-Tech-Manufacturing-Marketing
Nice to Have Experience:
- Experience working within a multi brand portfolio business
- Understanding of the printing industry and manufacturing process
- Experience working within the OKR process
