Program Director, Techstars Anywhere Accelerator

The Techstars Anywhere Program Director is a senior leader on the accelerator team and reports directly to the Managing Director. Working closely with the Managing Director, the Program Director is responsible for the definition of and managing the successful execution of the Techstars Anywhere accelerator program. The Program Director will help source and support founders through their journey from idea to IPO. They should be forward thinking and will leverage their past experience to assist the Managing Director to recruit and select startups for the Anywhere accelerator. They will use their experience and expertise to help coach these companies and create value for the founders. The Program Director will be responsible for  connecting companies to the Techstars network and leading the world class team of Techstars Anywhere mentors. This person will need to have a high startup IQ, understand what it takes to build a company, have strong founder empathy, and be an effective operator, coach, communicator, and community builder. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with Managing Director to develop the program plan, and manage program operations staff (including full time and part time associates) to oversee the successful execution of the program
• Manage program budget
• Oversee recruitment, hiring and management of program operations staff including full time and part time program associates
• Source, recruit, and interview companies for Techstars Anywhere 
• Support Managing Director on making investment decisions
• Engage with Techstars’ Founders to understand company needs and develop paths/relationships to drive them toward success
• Impact the development of Techstars’ companies by coaching on disciplines (fundraising, marketing, product) in which you can offer expertise
• Act as the bridge between Techstars Anywhere founders and the broader Techstars Network
• Recruit, train, and support our world class team of mentors.
• Lead the dynamic and active alumni network for past Techstars Anywhere founders including programming, online community, and in person meetups.
• Follow best practices and execute upon outlined content and curriculum of the program
• Share new best practices with the Techstars’ team globally as you identify areas for innovation and improvement 
• Represent Techstars in your local community, both actively and passively

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fast-paced environments with a focus on venture capital or startup operations, community engagement, business development. 
• Experience as an early stage startup founder or early employee is preferred. Bonus points if you’ve got experience fundraising.
• Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital
• Experience working and thriving in a remote first environment
• Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience
• Top tier verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable commanding a room; public speaking and community development is part of the job
• Strong emotional intelligence 
• Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities – we're lean so we all have to roll up our sleeves!
• Comfortable with a minimal amount of direction but high expectations

Compensation range: $120,000 - $160,000 + 10% Bonus
