QA Automation Engineer
TLDR
Design, develop, and maintain Cypress-based automation frameworks and test suites, integrate them into CI/CD, and collaborate across teams to ensure product quality.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer (in Portugal or Romania) who is passionate about quality, automation, and continuous improvement. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for web applications, playing a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products at every stage of the software lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
Automation & Framework Development
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using Cypress
- Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality delivery
Test Planning & Execution
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and sanity testing
- Create comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases aligned with business requirements
- Execute automated and manual test suites, analyze results, and drive quality delivery
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects through to resolution using defect management tools
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with developers, business users, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure solution quality
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirement reviews, test strategy discussions, and release validation
- Report testing progress, risks, defects, and quality metrics clearly and in a timely manner
- Contribute to improving test automation coverage and overall QA processes
What you need to be successful
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in QA Automation and Functional Testing
- Hands-on experience using Cypress
- Good understanding of JavaScript and/or TypeScript for writing automation scripts
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and test lifecycle management
- Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans
- Good understanding of web application testing and end-to-end validation
- Good knowledge of API testing using Postman or equivalent tools
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
- Familiarity with performance, accessibility, or security testing practices
- Exposure to cloud-based test environments or containerized testing setups (e.g. Docker)
- ISTQB or similar QA certification is a plus
