About the Role

As our first QA engineer at Sona, you buy into the premise that one way or another, everything needs to be QA’d, but the best results come by automating as much of the process as possible. You will have worked extensively with QA automation tools across both web and mobile and have strong views on which tools are best suited for which tasks. That being said, we’re looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and dive into some old fashioned manual QA when circumstances demand it.

Day to day, you will be:

  • Conducting manual QA of new features where we don't yet have automations
  • Working out how to automate QA processes where possible
  • Working out how to minimise time taken for manual processes where they can't be fully automated
  • Working with PM's to develop efficient processes for communicating acceptance criteria
  • Working with designers to develop efficient processes for understanding if shipped features map to designs

Requirements

We don’t have hard and fast requirements, but a lot of the following is probably true about you:

  • You have substantial professional experience of manual and automated QA approaches across both web and mobile applications
  • You have strong views on which bits of QA are good candidates for automation and which are best kept as manual or semi-manual processes
  • Bonus points if you have experience testing React Native applications
