Why This Role Is Different

This is not a hospital shift or chaotic urgent care.

As a School District Nurse within HealthBar’s School Nursing Program, you’ll provide comprehensive, thoughtful nursing care to a defined student population — with predictable hours, real autonomy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships in your school community.

You’ll follow the school-year calendar:

  • Summers off
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • No holidays

This is a clinical role with balance built in.

What Your Days Look Like

You will:

  • Provide medical training and delegation for school staff (medication administration, chronic disease support, CPR/First Aid, MERT)
  • Support chronic disease management (allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, mental health)
  • Write and implement individualized plans of care
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate Medical Emergency Response Teams (MERT)
  • Collaborate with school administration, teachers, PT/OT, speech, social work, CNAs, and fellow RNs
  • Participate in 504 and IEP meetings

You'll also provide both routine and complex nursing care, including:

  • Medication administration
  • Assessing and treating illnesses and injuries
  • Specialized nursing care as needed
  • Public health education
  • Provider consultations

What You Won’t Be Dealing With

  • No hospital shift rotations
  • No 12-hour nights
  • No holiday coverage
  • No weekend requirements
  • No unpredictable overtime

You'll work a steady, school-based schedule that allows you to fully unplug during breaks.

Compensation & Schedule

Starting at $45,000 annually (based on experience)

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Schedule follows the school calendar
