Research Partnerships Coordinator

Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is a world leading independent policy institute based in London. As a global think tank, our mission is to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world.

Our Research Partnerships team supports the institute to find and grow financial support for research activities. The team has a particular focus on private foundations and UK and international government bodies and ministries. We seek a Coordinator who will support the team by identifying funding opportunities, liaising with funders and collaborating with Chatham House researchers. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills and knowledge relating to fundraising and research management in the international affairs arena.

Principal Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Research Partnerships, you will:

  • Coordinate the institute’s relationships with its research Partner organizations;
  • Research new prospective donors in support of fundraising priorities;
  • Coordinate meetings or briefings; and manage tailored mailings and event invitations;
  • Work collaboratively with all research programmes at Chatham House, ensuring regular contact and keeping up to date with fundraising priorities and activities;
  • Maintain records held in the database on funding applications and correspondence with donors;
  • Provide administrative assistance to the team in delivering an effective set of funding processes, particularly relating to research finance and contracts.

Requirements

Skills and Experience required:

  • Interest in international affairs or research;
  • Ability to do online research and coordinate and deliver briefings on your findings;
  • Outstanding administration, coordination and organisational skills;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • Organized approach to work and ability to multi-task;
  • Comfortable with detail, for example involving checking and compiling budgets, agreements and reports;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form good working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels internally and externally;
  • Good IT skills including word, excel and outlook.
Desirable
  • Some fundraising experience;
  • Experience of working with or within a research institute or a funding agency or similar organisation.

Salary: £33,000

Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week), Permanent
