About the Role

This is a critical role that will help build the foundations of Yugabyte’s Finance team. You will own the AR, Billing and Revenue pieces in long term modelling, and help assist with key financial reporting to our management team and investors. You will also have the opportunity to assist with Sales Ops related projects on an as needed basis.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement and automation of Billing and Collection tools including: Oracle Netsuite, Stripe, Orb, Cloud Marketplaces, timecard tracking, in-house dev tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as GTM Operations, product management & engineering, and IT to identify areas for enhancing the customer experience and streamline Order-to-Cash processes
  • Implement and maintain customer onboarding procedures including customer records and structure, new customer data templates, review contracts for billing terms, credit policies, and fulfilling customer onboarding requests
  • Continue to develop and implement policies and procedures to scale with the business
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to manage credit risk effectively
  • Create cloud marketplace private offers and address inquiries from customers
  • Review new subscriptions / customers for proper revenue recognition & billing configuration
  • Monitor and update existing customers based on upgrades, downgrades or amendments to contracts
  • Responsible for all billing, accounts receivable, and collections reporting including communication with customers, sales team members, executives, and other stakeholders
  • Complete Month end close journal entries, reconciliations, cash forecasts, and fluctuation analysis in the Order-to-Cash cycle
  • Validation of monthly revenue and deferred revenue from usage based customers
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing operations, revenue collection, and customer billing
  • Research implications of sales-type taxes: US sales tax, CT, withholding taxes, GST/HST, VAT and document and implement conclusions on taxability of transactions
  • Prepare related monthly/quarterly sales tax filings and quarterly nexus reviews

Required Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in billing in a high-growth SaaS or Software environment
  • Experience with specifically high volume, low dollar B2B business processes
  • Excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and lead complex initiatives
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, NetSuite (or similar ERP systems), Stripe, Orb or Metronome (or similar usage billing tool), Cloud marketplaces (GCP, AWS, Azure), Microsoft Office (Excel) and Google Suite (sheets and docs)

Compensation and Benefits
We are committed to the principle of equal pay for equal work. The cash compensation for this role is market-competitive, ranging from $120,000 to $130,000. Additional benefits include equity options, comprehensive health plans, retirement benefits, and unlimited paid time off (PTO).
