RG Analyst

TLDR

Protect players from gambling-related harm by assessing risk, engaging at-risk players, and applying player-protection tools.

We are looking for a caring, detail-driven RG Analyst to help protect our players from gambling-related harm. If you enjoy reading player behavior in data, speaking to customers with empathy, and acting early when something doesn't look right, this is a great opportunity to grow your career in Responsible Gambling within a reputable, regulated operator.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct RG risk assessments on new and existing players throughout their customer journey.
  • Review RG risk-scoring and monitoring reports daily to identify markers of harm, such as rising deposits, chasing losses, long or late-night sessions and repeated declined deposits.
  • Carry out RG interactions with at-risk players by email or chat, and document each outcome clearly.
  • Apply player-protection tools in line with policy.
  • Process self-exclusion requests and monitor self-excluded players.
  • Identify signs of vulnerability (financial difficulty, mental-health indicators, minors) and escalate them promptly.
  • Flag possible AML concerns spotted during RG reviews, such as affordability mismatches or third-party payments, to the AML team.
  • Keep accurate case notes and audit trails in the back office so every decision can be evidenced to the regulator.
  • Follow the regulatory and operational risk-control standards set by our licensing bodies and internal policies.
  • Contribute to RG reporting, quality reviews and training for Customer facing teams.

About you

  • 1-2 years of experience working within the industry is required, and preferably with 6-12 months experience working within a Responsible Gambling team.
  • Working knowledge of RG markers of harm, safer-gambling tools and self-exclusion processes.
  • Basic understanding of AML principles and how RG and AML risks overlap.
  • Awareness of the regulatory requirements that apply to licensed gambling operators.
  • Matric / high-school qualification required; a degree or diploma in a related field is an advantage.

Skills and competencies

  • Empathy and strong communication skills, with the confidence to hold sensitive conversations with players.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing transactions, betting history and session data.
  • Clear, concise written English for case notes and player correspondence.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to balance player protection with the needs of the business.
  • Comfortable with Excel and back-office programs.
  • Able to work independently, manage a daily case queue and meet deadlines.
  • A good team player who is flexible, open to feedback and keen to learn.

Nice to have

  • A Responsible Gambling or player-protection certificate (for example, an RG course from a recognized body).
  • Experience with RG risk-scoring or player-monitoring tools. In MGA or other relevant markets.
