A Compliance Officer in a startup is the individual responsible for ensuring that the company follows all external rules and internal controls in its business operations. This role often covers a good deal of legal ground, ranging from data protection to corporate governance. Due to the dynamic nature of startups, the Compliance Officer might also be involved in a series of other tasks including risk management and internal audit.
