Sales Engineer

Job Context
The Sales Engineer will serve as a technical expert, bridging the gap between our product offerings and specific needs of our clients.What You’ll Do
- Translate technical features into business benefits for customers
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and tailor product demonstrations accordingly
- Address technical questions and concerns raised by potential clients
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at customer organizations
- Gain deep understanding of Simpro product and technical intricacies
- Stay up to date with industry trends and competitive offerings
- Identity customer pain points and propose solutions that align with our offering
- Gather feedback from customers and share insights with the product development team to influence product enhancements
- 2–5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Pre-Sales, Customer Success, or Technical Sales within a SaaS environment.
- Would consider someone currently working in the trades who is interested in transitioning to a sales engineer
- Experience working with SaaS platforms that support field service management, job scheduling, estimating, invoicing, or workforce management.
- Ability to translate technical product capabilities into business outcomes for trade and field service customers.
- Experience conducting tailored product demonstrations for business owners, operations managers, dispatchers, and field technicians.
- Strong discovery skills to identify customer workflows, operational challenges, and business goals.
- Ability to understand and explain software integrations, APIs, mobile applications, and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience partnering with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to develop technical solutions and close new business.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with decision-makers and operational leaders.
- Strong problem-solving and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to collect customer feedback and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to improve the platform.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and sales enablement tools.
- Ability to stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in field service management.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.
- Experience supporting customers in industries such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, pest control, roofing, or general contracting.
- Knowledge of field service management (FSM) software, scheduling, dispatching, estimating, inventory management, invoicing, and mobile workforce solutions.
- Experience with software integrations, REST APIs, or ERP/accounting integrations (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage).
- Experience working in a high-growth B2B SaaS company.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
