OctoML was founded by the creators of Apache TVM, a popular open-source compiler that transforms ML models into highly-efficient binary code optimized for the specific hardware and model architecture. We are building the Octomizer, a cloud-based "TVM as a Service" product that enables developers to optimize and package their ML models through a modern web app as well as a rich API surface.

At OctoML we are looking for a Sr. Sales Solutions Engineer to support our customers’ innovation across ML by leveraging ML compilation and optimization. This is not a sales role, but rather an opportunity to be a principal technical advisor and ‘voice of the customer’ to large Fortune 500 and multi-national organizations.
As a Sr. Sales Solutions Engineer, you will directly influence how our largest and/or most strategic Enterprise customers use OctoML services. You will help leaders embrace agility and deliver high impact ML transformation. You will interface with solutions architects to understand business drivers and assess ML portfolios ensuring that our ML solutions are highly scalable, flexible and resilient. You will serve as an advocate for your customer, support critical technical issues in coordination with internal teams, and help shape the future roadmap of OctoML.

As an Sales Solutions Engineer, you will:
- Develop and execute on an operational support strategy that helps our customers continue to grow and be successful on the OctoML platform.
- Deliver customer-focused demonstrations, documentation, training, and launch plans.
- Explain transformational concepts to decision makers and influence technology strategy.
- Mentor and role model for your colleagues
- Keep and develop technical skills, to make strong community contributions.
- Develop a passion for educating, training and enabling ML solutions experts for a challenging set of customers and operational circumstances.
- Possess exceptional customer focus and a bent for action, you must work vigorously to earn and keep customer trust while communicating a direction that inspires results.
Our ideal Sales Solutions Engineer candidate will have:
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for ML SaaS and / or embedded applications.
- Experience operating ML solutions at scale.
- 3+ years of customer facing experience leading ML operational transformation.
- 9+ years of technical engineering experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline required, or 11 years of equivalent work experience.
- Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of technical engineering experience
- Experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for ML environments
- 3+ years leading large technology projects with multiple contributors over many months
- Experience presenting and influencing technology strategy, executives through developers.
- Experience managing large scale environments including escalations, incident, problem, and service availability.
- Experience working as a technical leader that has brought material change to an org.
- Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to a decision maker audience.
- Experience in information security and risk management including compliance, authentication, federation, encryption, and network security.
- Written communication skills including publicly available white papers or other documents.
- Advanced Degree (MS, PhD).
Location: Onsite (post-pandemic) in Seattle, WA or Remote
