SDET - Automation Engineer (Egypt)

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong focus on automated testing. In this role, you will play a key part in the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks, customizing solutions to meet specific project needs.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and business teams to integrate testing strategies into the development process.
  • Create and execute test plans, systems, and procedures to ensure product quality and release readiness.
  • Write and optimize code within business modules to enhance software testability.
  • Document test cases, risk analyses, and testing processes, ensuring comprehensive coverage and traceability.
  • Perform both manual and automated testing, recording and analyzing test progress and results.
  • Identify, isolate, track, and resolve bugs throughout the testing cycle, including discovering potential user-facing issues.
  • Drive innovation and streamline testing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Review user interfaces for consistency, usability, and functionality.

Requirements

Skills

  • Proficiency in software development and testing, with expertise in automated test frameworks.
  • Strong background in designing, executing, and documenting test cases and test plans.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Selenium, Test Cafe, Postman, Insomnia, and Swagger UI.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and related technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation
  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript and related technologies
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks
  • 1+ years working with Selenium, TestCafe, Playwright, RestAssured, and API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia)
  • 2+ years working with issue tracking systems (Jira) and documentation tools (Confluence)
  • 1+ years experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through previous work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of overall software testing experience
  • 3+ years developing and maintaining automated test frameworks
  • 2+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Experience with performance testing and security testing
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Certifications in software testing (ISTQB, etc.)
