Security Officer- 3rd shift (Sunday- Thursday )
TLDR
Dependable data center security professional protecting assets and people through access control, surveillance, patrols, and incident response in a 24x7 environment.
- Verify identities and enforce controlled access for employees, customers, vendors, and visitors entering and exiting the facility
- Monitor surveillance systems, access control alarms, and fire alarm systems, initiating response and escalation procedures as required
- Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols, identify security concerns or policy violations, and document findings accurately
- Issue temporary visitor credentials, maintain complete visitor and vendor logs, and preserve chain-of-custody and traceability standards
- Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, alarms, and medical emergencies in accordance with training, policy, and site procedures
- Support secure shipping and receiving activities at controlled entry points in alignment with defined process and access standards
- Respond to security-related tickets, cases, and communications in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain order and cleanliness within security-controlled areas, including monitoring stations and related workspaces
- Recognize situations beyond assigned authority and escalate to Security Leadership in accordance with established protocols
- Experience in security, access control, surveillance monitoring, or a similarly structured operational environment
- Strong judgment, situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm during incidents or emergencies
- Ability to follow established procedures consistently while maintaining professionalism with employees, customers, and visitors
- Strong attention to detail in logging, incident documentation, credential control, and policy enforcement
- Comfort working in a 24x7 environment where physical presence, responsiveness, and reliability matter
- Ability to communicate clearly and escalate concerns appropriately when situations exceed assigned authority
- Serves as the frontline protector of physical access control and security procedure compliance
- Brings calm, professional presence to routine operations and urgent situations alike
- Maintains discipline in monitoring, documentation, and response execution
- Protects security standards without losing sight of professionalism and customer interaction
- Understands the importance of escalation, traceability, and consistency in a regulated environment
- Access to the facility is controlled consistently, professionally, and without preventable security lapses
- Surveillance, patrol, alarm response, and incident handling are executed with strong awareness and discipline
- Visitor logs, badge records, and incident documentation are accurate, timely, and audit-ready
- Security-related issues are identified early, addressed within scope, and escalated appropriately
- Shipping, receiving, and controlled-area activities support both physical security and operational traceability
- The facility maintains confidence in the security team’s responsiveness, professionalism, and reliability
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in security, access control, facilities security, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with badge systems, visitor management tools, CCTV, alarm systems, or incident reporting processes preferred
- CPR, AED, first aid, or other relevant safety certifications preferred
- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24x7 operating environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and report clearly
- Ability to remain professional, attentive, and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations
