Build the Software Foundation for Next-Generation Mobility  At Apex.AI, we develop safety-certified software for mobility systems and intelligent machines. Our products power applications in automotive, trucking, robotics, aerospace, agriculture, and industrial automation. We are looking for a Senior Applications Engineer who combines strong C++ engineering skills with a passion for solving complex customer challenges. In this role, you will work directly with global customers and internal product teams to design, build, deploy, and support advanced software solutions based on Apex.OS. You will help customers bring real-world systems to production while contributing improvements and features back into our core platform. This is a highly technical, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys deep systems engineering, customer collaboration, and writing production-quality C++ software. This role is located in our Munich office. Authorization to work in the Germany is required. What You’ll Do
  • Roll out Apex.AI software to customers and provide technical support solutions using Apex.AI products
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand technical requirements and deliver high-quality implementations
  • Deploy, integrate, and support Apex.AI software in customer environments
  • Troubleshoot complex software, networking, middleware, and embedded systems issues
  • Partner with internal engineering teams to improve product capabilities, usability, and performance
  • Contribute features, fixes, and enhancements directly to Apex.OS
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and customer training sessions
  • Help accelerate customer adoption and success across automotive and intelligent machine platforms
  • What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in modern C++
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex software systems
  • Experience developing software for embedded or distributed systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Experience using modern development workflows and tools such as Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking systems
  • Self-driven and comfortable operating independently in dynamic technical environments

  • Experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, industrial automation, or other safety-critical domains
  • Familiarity with operating systems, networking, and communication protocols (UDP, multicast, TCP/IP, DDS, ROS/ROS 2)
  • Understanding of real-time systems and automotive software architectures such as AUTOSAR
  • Experience in technical consulting, field engineering, developer support, or professional services
  • Customer enablement or technical training experience
  • Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel or CMake
  • Experience working with Linux-based development environments
