Senior Business Analyst

TLDR

Owns the development of a company-wide BI reporting suite, delivering Tableau dashboards and data insights to empower decision-makers across teams.

Senior Business Analyst will drive the development of our reporting suite from stakeholder's requirements collection to implementation. It covers ongoing cooperation with multiple teams, internal metrics alignment, reporting data sources preparation, maintenance of Business Intelligence tools, and reports performance optimization.

The key purpose of this position is to empower the decision-makers at all levels of the company (from customer-facing teams to C-level managers) with timely and relevant data. That includes ongoing Tableau dashboards development as well as ad-hoc data analysis that requires a good business understanding.

You will be a go-to person for initiatives addressing the data quality questions, validating new business cases with domain experts, building internal data tools, automating and standardizing the processes, promoting best practices, and new tools among the report's users. You will be part of the Finance Department and closely collaborate with the experienced Data Engineering and Data Scientists teams and business unit managers on the strategic projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for:

  • Proving Tableau reports enabling timely analysis of the financial performance and understanding the business drivers
  • Managing business analysts team (prioritizing backlog, managing business intelligence tools, guiding professional development) 
  • Automating data processes and standardizing reporting across different systems (CRM, customer support software, billing system)
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests by writing queries, cleaning and analyzing data and verifying business hypotheses
  • Support other departments in implementing data strategy (designing new data models, translating business logic into tidy and reusable data sources) 
  • Working with Data Engineers team to ensure the data quality, completeness and stable data processing pipelines

 

 MUST HAVE

  • Tableau - a proven track record of building and maintaining business-critical reports 
  • SQL - working experience with complex queries (any distribution, we use AWS Redshift)
  • Business analysis - proficient in a structured approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to details and identifying the most impactful solutions
  • Data modeling - designing reusable data structures, extracting, cleaning and wrangling data 
  • Agile project management, communication with C-level executives
  • Soft skills - great listener, being a likable, competent person, openly sharing your expertise and mentoring more junior colleagues
  • English - good command, both written and spoken

 

 NICE TO HAVE

  • R (or Python) - as we don’t like to repeat ourselves and favor scripting and automation
  • Apache Airflow, Amazon Web Services (Redshift, S3, Athena Glue) - as we like standing on the shoulders of giants and avoid reinventing the wheel
  • Git (or other version systems) - as we believe in predictable collaboration and scalable workflows
  • Profiles on Github and Tableau Public, data-related blog - as we love working with self-driven people contributing to the data communities and learning in public
  • Previous experience in the eCommerce sector - as you will have a better insight on improving our customers understanding and seeking the most impactful ways of solving their problems
