Senior Business Systems Developer

As a Senior Business Systems Developer, you will shape the technology that powers our global operations, turning complex challenges into scalable solutions.

The Business Systems Solutions department builds and maintains systems and solutions for the company that keeps our internal operations running smoothly. By integrating custom-built software with third-party products, the team drives efficiency, scalability, and sustainability across the business.

You will collaborate with Technical Leads and Software Architects to deliver robust software solutions, utilising and driving the adoption of the latest AI-assisted development practices whilst also driving the integration of AI within our software solutions where appropriate.  Your focus will be on coding, ensuring quality, and fostering continuous improvement. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to planning, release management, and technical direction, while championing best practices and mentoring Junior Developers.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid work from home policy.

• Proficiency in software development and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including API back-ends and UI front-end services.
• Technical expertise in .Net, React, JavaScript, Python, MS-SQL or Postgres, and Cloud-based microservices.
• Deep understanding of complex system architecture and experience of integrating systems and collaborating across teams.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code through analytical problem-solving.
• Track record of mentoring and guiding Junior Software Developers.
• High degree of experience and expertise leveraging AI-assisted development tools for code completion, generation and review, embedded into everyday software development.
• Knowledge of release management and quality control processes.
• Passion for technology, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Expertise in harnessing AI and AI tooling effectively within software to accelerate delivery, increase productivity and raise engineering quality.

• Developing and maintaining business-critical software systems.
• Guiding and supporting Junior Software Developers with technical tasks.
• Collaborating with Software Architects and team leads on technical direction.
• Reviewing work items, provide estimates, and identify risks.
• Ensuring code quality, performance, and effective logging and testing.
• Contributing to planning, documentation, process governance, and release processes.
• Driving continuous improvement in development practices.
• Communicating technical requirements clearly within and across teams.
• Validating all AI-assisted output responsibly before implementation.
• Troubleshooting and resolve issues in development and production environments.
