Senior Data Analyst, Trust and Safety
TLDR
Build monitoring dashboards and detection logic while investigating suspicious trading activity, fraud, AML signals, and on-chain behavior.
About Polymarket
Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.
We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.
About the Role
Polymarket's Trust and Safety team is responsible for keeping the US exchange clean — identifying fraud, flagging AML-adjacent activity, and making sure bad actors don't quietly erode the integrity of the market. You'll sit on the Data team and work directly with Trust and Safety, owning the analytical layer of their operation: fielding ad hoc data requests, writing the SQL to answer them, and building the monitoring infrastructure that surfaces problems before they become incidents.
This is an individual contributor role based in our NYC office. You'll be working on live, real-money markets, which means the work has immediate consequences. The goal is for T&S to spend their time on decisions, not data pulls.
What You'll Do
Write SQL queries to investigate suspicious trading activity on the US exchange, from initial flag through resolution
Field ad hoc data requests from the Trust and Safety team and deliver clear, well-documented answers without needing step-by-step direction
Build and maintain monitoring dashboards that track fraud and AML signals on an ongoing basis, keeping them accurate and useful week over week
Identify patterns in bad actor behavior across accounts, trading history, and on-chain data, and translate those patterns into concrete detection logic improvements
Document investigation findings in a format that non-technical stakeholders can act on
Work with the T&S team to prioritize the highest-risk signals and reduce noise in existing alerting systems
What We're Looking For
3–5 years of experience in data analysis, with a track record of delivering under ambiguity
Strong SQL skills — you write clean, efficient queries against unfamiliar schemas without help and can debug your own work
Direct experience in fraud detection, AML investigation, or trust and safety analytics at an exchange, fintech, or similar environment
Proven ability to scope and complete open-ended investigations independently, not just answer well-defined questions
Experience building dashboards that operations or compliance teams rely on as a primary source of truth
Clear communication skills — you can explain what you found, why it matters, and what should happen next to someone who doesn't know SQL
(Plus) Familiarity with crypto or prediction market data structures, on-chain activity, or exchange-level trading data
(Plus) Experience writing or contributing to detection logic or rules engines in a fraud or AML context
(Plus) Background working directly with compliance, legal, or operations teams in a regulated environment
