As our Senior Engineering Manager - Payment, your mission is to own the payment strategy for the product engineering team. You are taking care of the performance, productivity, and innovation in this scope. You are a hands-on manager; you are close to the topics your teams are handling, iterate on your scope with your team and challenge them to always optimize user experience and deliver value.
Furthermore, you are someone energized by removing obstacles, streamlining processes, and enabling your team to deliver exceptional results while supporting their professional growth and overall well-being.
Key responsibilities
You’ll manage 1 product squad (6 to 10 engineers), creating the conditions for them to thrive: clear direction, strong rituals, and a collaborative culture. You foster alignment through regular team moments, stand-ups, retros, and workshops and care deeply about team morale and engagement.
You’ll help craft the vision and strategy for the Payment & Cash Advance domain, ensuring your teams are fully aligned on goals and the path to get there. You’ll translate high-level objectives into actionable plans, and keep everyone focused on what matters most: delivering value to users.
You’ll set and track the right KPIs to measure impact, velocity, and quality and ensure that delivery is predictable and transparent. As part of Malt’s Engineering Manager Guild, you’ll also help scale what works across the org by contributing to shared rituals, tooling, and process improvements.
You’ll be the primary tech point of contact for our external financial partners, from PSPs to cash advance providers. You’ll ensure smooth integration, operational reliability, and long-term scalability in this core part of Malt’s product.
