The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support Asteron Life’s statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting.
This role sits within Financial Reporting and focuses on:
Year-end financial statements
NOHC / Group reporting
IFRS17 technical accounting
This is a fixed-term backfill during a major NZ integration program, offering strong exposure to transformation and senior stakeholders.
How will you make an impact?
Support month-end and year-end close
Prepare financial statements and reporting packs
Deliver statutory and regulatory reporting (incl. RBNZ)
Contribute to IFRS17 reporting and technical accounting
Partner with auditors, actuarial teams, and Group
Drive improvements in reporting processes and controls
About you
You’re a technically strong accountant with experience in financial reporting within a regulated environment. You’re detail-focused, collaborative, and confident managing deadlines during peak reporting periods.
You’ll bring
CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
6–10 years’ experience in financial reporting/audit
Strong statutory and year-end reporting experience
Exposure to regulatory reporting (preferred)
Insurance or financial services experience (desirable)
IFRS17 or complex accounting experience (advantageous)
Strong Excel, systems, and stakeholder skills
