The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support Asteron Life’s statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting.

This role sits within Financial Reporting and focuses on:

  • Year-end financial statements

  • NOHC / Group reporting

  • IFRS17 technical accounting

This is a fixed-term backfill during a major NZ integration program, offering strong exposure to transformation and senior stakeholders.

How will you make an impact?

  • Support month-end and year-end close

  • Prepare financial statements and reporting packs

  • Deliver statutory and regulatory reporting (incl. RBNZ)

  • Contribute to IFRS17 reporting and technical accounting

  • Partner with auditors, actuarial teams, and Group

  • Drive improvements in reporting processes and controls

About you

You’re a technically strong accountant with experience in financial reporting within a regulated environment. You’re detail-focused, collaborative, and confident managing deadlines during peak reporting periods.

You’ll bring

  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)

  • 6–10 years’ experience in financial reporting/audit

  • Strong statutory and year-end reporting experience

  • Exposure to regulatory reporting (preferred)

  • Insurance or financial services experience (desirable)

  • IFRS17 or complex accounting experience (advantageous)

  • Strong Excel, systems, and stakeholder skills
