Senior Financial Analyst (Workday Adaptive Developer)

TLDR

Build complex Workday Adaptive Planning models, integrations, dashboards, and driver-based solutions for budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

THE OPPORTUNITY
  • Model Design & Configuration Architect: Maintain complex Adaptive Planning models including personnel, expense, revenue and capital sheets.
  • Configure versions, attributes, dimensions, levels, and advanced formulas to support dynamic business scenarios.
  • Develop driver-based logic and allocation rules to streamline annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting cycles.
  • Data Integration & Accuracy: Design, build, and troubleshoot data integrations (ETL processes) between Workday Adaptive Planning and enterprise systems (Workday Financials, HCM or external ERPs). Validate and reconcile data across source platforms to ensure consistency and accuracy. Deep knowledge of NetSuite and integrating that platform’s data into Adaptive.
  • Govern the Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and hierarchy structures within the planning environment.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Build executive dashboards, scorecards, and management reports for strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and develop robust reporting packages using Adaptive Office Connect.
  • Configure workflows, approval processes and user security/role-based access.
  • Continually assess and improve financial processes.
  • Work across the Finance and Accounting teams on ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • THE SKILL SET
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A required.
  • 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience implementing and configuring Workday Adaptive Planning with very little oversight.
  • Prefer a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Business Intelligence.
  • Experience with Salesforce, and OpenAir is desired but not required.
  • Experience with Netsuite and Workday is required
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand and structure sometimes ambiguous data to create repeatable analyses to help identify business problems and deliver creative solutions.
  • Experience partnering and working with senior managers and executives in a complex environment.
  • Experience planning in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, including allocations and consolidations
  • Familiarity with SaaS financial metrics (ARR, bookings, retention, deferred revenue).
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from finance stakeholders and translate them into documented technical specifications, with disciplined testing and change management before release.
  • Ability to anticipate potential questions and issues and influence senior management decisions.
  • Superior MS Excel skills.
  • Workday Pro Adaptive Planning certification, or equivalent demonstrated implementation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday integration tooling (EIB, Core Connectors, Data Designer, or Workday Studio) and with Adaptive Office Connect reporting and building out associated financial templates and dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data transformation concepts, and experience with generative AI tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to self-start, multitask, and meet deadlines with accuracy
