Responsibilities

This position offers an exciting growth opportunity and career path for a Senior Financial Budgetary Analyst in the insurance space. Insight Catastrophe Group is seeking an analytical, team-oriented, highly-motivated analyst to join Corporate Operations and be part of the team working directly with the company’s “C” suite . Budgeting and Reforecast Reporting:

  • Provides lead role in preparation and completion of budgets, reforecasts and related reporting activities throughout the business year
  • Works with senior leadership throughout the budget and reforecast process, providing necessary guidance, reporting, and support to ensure timelines are met
  • Maintains budget and reforecast workbooks and supporting schedules

Budgeting Analysis and Support:

  • Provides variance analysis of budget / reforecast versus actual results by working directly with leadership to provide a resource management inquiries
  • Documents and maintains accounting budget and reforecast process workflows

Financial Analysis and Support:

  • Assist in driving company performance through pro-actively analyzing results
  • Perform variable and fixed cost analyses to identify potential improvements
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial exhibits as necessary
  • Analyze other financial reports and records as requested by management
  • Gain a strong understanding of the corporate general ledger software and reporting tools
  • Assist in the correspondence between business leaders and accounting manager
  • Maintains budget data in Accounting System
  • Develop maintain reporting metrics in Accounting System

Qualifications

  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and engages key stakeholders to deliver improvement in the accuracy and effectiveness of the financial planning processes
  • Analytical, problem-solving, organization and project management skills
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, organization, and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting principles, policies and controls
  • Familiar with multi-company accounting principles and the concepts of cost allocations
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial results

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Accounting or business related field)
  • A minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in financial analysis and budgeting or relevant business experience
  • An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing / profitability methodologies
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance or Reinsurance experience in a financial analysis area, understanding of P&C insurance company financial statements preferred
