Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Platform Engineer to own and evolve our Contentful-backed web platform for TaxWell-family marketing websites, including Drake Software and 1040.com. This role is responsible for production Nuxt/Vue applications, Contentful platform governance, content delivery reliability, and the engineering patterns that allow multiple branded sites to operate safely on a shared foundation.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a pure Contentful administration role. The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong frontend/platform experience who is also comfortable working directly in Contentful, including authoring, editing, validating, and publishing content when business needs require it.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve production Nuxt 3 / Vue / TypeScript applications backed by Contentful.

  • Design, maintain, and govern Contentful content models, spaces, environments, roles, permissions, workflows, preview, webhooks, and release processes.

  • Define platform standards for content modeling, authoring workflows, SEO, redirects, metadata, accessibility, analytics, consent tooling, and content delivery reliability.

  • Maintain shared platform patterns for multi-site development, including shared Nuxt layers, reusable packages, app-specific configuration, routing, theming, and testing.

  • Build and maintain integrations between Contentful and web applications using Contentful APIs, including GraphQL, Content Delivery API, Preview API, and Content Management API.

  • Troubleshoot production issues across the web application, Contentful configuration, deployment pipeline, third-party scripts, and content delivery layers.

  • Author, edit, validate, and publish Contentful content when business needs require direct engineering support, including complex, time-sensitive, or governance-sensitive updates.

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, UX, SEO, Legal, DevOps, Security, and Engineering to translate business needs into maintainable technical solutions and ensure content accuracy, consistency, approval readiness, and production safety.

  • Improve content authoring workflows through documentation, automation, tooling, preview improvements, and operational guardrails.

  • Participate in technical design reviews and architecture decisions, and mentor engineers on ContentfulNuxt/Vue, content modeling, and platform best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production web applications or frontend platforms.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Nuxt 3, Vue 3, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and modern frontend build tooling.

  • Hands-on experience with Contentful, including content modeling, environments, workflows, permissions, preview, publishing, webhooks, and API integrations.

  • Willingness and ability to work directly in Contentful as a content operator when needed, including authoring, editing, validating, and publishing production content.

  • Strong understanding of headless CMS architecture and Contentful APIs, including GraphQL, Content Delivery API, Preview API, and Content Management API.

  • Experience building or operating production marketing/content websites with SEO, redirects, metadata, analytics/tag management, consent tooling, accessibility, and performance considerations.

  • Experience with Git workflows, pull requests, code review, CI/CD, automated testing, and release management.

  • Experience with monorepos, shared packages or layers, reusable frontend architecture, or multi-site platform patterns.

  • Strong collaboration and technical leadership skills, including the ability to work with Product, Marketing, UX, SEO, Legal, DevOps, Security, and Engineering stakeholders, mentor engineers, and establish pragmatic technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating Contentful in an enterprise environment with multiple spaces, environments, brands, workflows, and governance needs.

  • Experience with GraphQL query design, schema evolution, typed content delivery patterns, preview mode, webhooks, or cache/CDN invalidation strategies.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Docker, AWS, Secrets Manager, or External Secrets Operator.

  • Experience with Vitest, Vue testing patterns, content model validation, or other automated quality gates.

  • Experience with Vuetify, SCSS, design systems, component libraries, or token-based theming.

  • Experience supporting regulated, compliance-sensitive, financial, tax, or ecommerce-adjacent websites.

  • Experience improving content operations, editor workflows, governance, and publishing processes.
