Wonderbly

Senior Growth Manager, My Life in a Book (12 months FTC initially)

The role

Wonderbly Group has recently acquired My Life in a Book, a leading player in the Print on Demand memoir category. The concept is simple and genuinely powerful: guided prompts help people capture their life stories, which are compiled into a beautifully printed hardcover book. A gift that becomes a treasured family heirloom.

The platform has real traction. It has fulfilled tens of thousands of orders, built a subscriber base of over 150,000 people, earned an outstanding customer satisfaction rating, and shipped to customers in more than 80 countries. We’ve acquired it because we believe it is significantly underperforming its potential, and we want you to help fix that. We’re investing significantly in product and tech and we’ve got some very exciting plans for the product that we can share at the interview.

In the near term, your job is to maximise revenue from the existing platform with support from our in house product and tech team. Then, as we redesign and relaunch the product in the new year, your role evolves: you become the commercial architect of the new experience, helping shape the go-to-market for the relaunch and help take it to its full potential.

This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial growth role working on a product with real emotional value and big commercial potential. If you’re an experienced DTC growth marketer who likes working in small, cross functional teams, owning your schedule and making your own decisions we’d like to hear from you.

What is exciting about this role

  • You are taking over a real business with existing revenue, brand equity, and a warm audience, not starting from zero
  • There is significant near-term opportunity to drive yield through channels that have been left largely dormant
  • You will be involved in shaping the product relaunch from the growth side, influencing what we build, not just how we sell it
  • The category is genuinely meaningful: helping families preserve their stories in a book that lasts forever

What you will do

Near term

  • Reactivate and scale paid social, Google, and CRM channels on the existing platform to drive customer acquisition and conversion
  • Extract maximum value from the large existing email audience through structured lifecycle programmes
  • Build performance benchmarks and establish what actually drives acquisition, conversion, and repeat revenue
  • Run rapid creative and messaging experiments to sharpen what works

Into Q1 2027 and beyond

  • Feed growth insights and customer learnings into product and UX decisions for the relaunch
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy and execution plan for the new product platform including bold new creative messaging
  • Lead the migration of all existing users to the new experience, using it as a reactivation opportunity

Requirements

Fundamentally, we want someone with proven expertise in performance marketing, ideally within early stage DTC e-commerce or consumer subscription categories.

You likely have 4+ years in growth and hands on performance marketing. You have driven acquisition through paid social and digital channels at a meaningful scale, with hands-on experience in Meta Ads, Google Ads, and GA4, and you know how to turn an underperforming funnel into one that works.

We will prioritise candidates who can demonstrate that they have operated in situations where there was no clear playbook, where they had to test their way to answers, and where they took something underperforming and made it work.

However, we are also looking for someone who has aspirations to grow beyond performance channels. We believe that there is a brilliant brand to develop through My Life in a Book in partnership with our world class product team and we want someone that is excited about this more creative side of the challenge and keen to contribute to all aspects of growth.

We truly believe that imaginatively personalised stories are one of the greatest ways to make a child feel loved, unique and capable of anything. To show them that any story they imagine could be their story. We’ve spent the past six years obsessing about all aspects of personalisation in design and storytelling, optimising our rendering engine and scaling our Print on Demand network to four continents. We recently started an exciting shift from personalised books for children, to a global Personal Publishing leader. While we continue to publish the world's most innovative personalised books for kids, we started to think about the power of meaningful personalisation beyond the children market. Recently we announced the launch of Wonderbly Studios: a strategic partnerships (B2B2C and joint ventures) platform offering access to Wonderbly’s world-leading personalisation expertise across design, tech and manufacturing. We could not ask for a better suited partner than the Wizarding World - the official Harry Potter digital hub and fan club. Powered by Wonderbly Studios' design, tech and operations,The Keys and Curios journal (a welcome gift for Wizarding World Gold members) is a real creative triumph. Our CultureOur culture, or vibes as we call it here at Wonderbly is built on three core values that are at the heart of the Lost My Name book which started it all. We have extended the idea that "with a little bit of courage, curiosity and kindness anything is possible (including finding your lost name) to all aspects of our work. Be Courageous - building a new business, pushing all kinds of creative, operational and technical envelopes every day, going places no one has been before - these tasks are not for the fainthearted. We value taking (calculated) risks, rising to the constant challenges startup life present to us, making bold decisions. The people having the greatest success here are self-starters who thrive on autonomy and consciously work towards great leaps of personal growth. We like to help our employees realise they are even braver than they think. Be Curious - we pride ourselves on being an organisation that is obsessed with learning. Our curiosity and childlike sense of wonder is one of the most amazing attributes we have as human beings – it’s what weds us to the world. Curiosity is the spark that helps us learn and grow. It also makes an obvious business case - it goes hand in hand with being inventive, ingenious, with learning new skills, with taking risks, with breaking new grounds.Be Kind - at Wonderbly there's one rule above all: no assholes in the building. In order for people to be kind, they have to pay attention to what is happening around us. Kindness at Wonderbly manifests itself externally - how we treat and empathise with our customers, and internally - how we treat each other. We want to design a company culture that’s not just looking at how we can make the world better for ourselves, but how we can make it better for others as well.Benefits, perks and stuff Each year you'll accrue a generous 28 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays We support being active; with numerous running groups, gym lunches and yoga in the office.
