As the Senior Manager of Data Science and Data Engineering, you will play a crucial role in leading the data analytics team at HelloFresh and Chefs Plate. Your primary responsibility will be to build and manage a world-class organization focused on developing actionable, relevant insights derived from rigorous quantitative research and analysis. You will also lead the development and implementation of scalable, automated data solutions, ensuring efficient data pipelines and robust data infrastructure. With your strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and passion for driving measurable results, you will contribute to HelloFresh's mission of changing the way people eat and cook at home.

- People Leadership:
- Set the vision, direction and culture of a team of Data professionals by managing individual and team performance expectations and goals, developing and upskilling the team, and holding their team accountable to meet and exceed performance targets.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Build best-in-class practices to optimize the team's ability to deliver high-quality analysis at scale, with speed, and maintain high standards.
- Data Science and Analysis:
- Manipulate large data sets and perform various types of analyses, such as descriptive, prescriptive, inferential, causal, and exploratory analyses.
- Investigate and explain trends, conduct multivariable analyses of causal relationships, and determine optimal product/service configurations within business constraints.
- Collaborate with data scientists to design, build, and maintain statistical and machine learning models.
- Data Engineering and Infrastructure:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and automated data pipelines using big data tools and platforms, such as Spark, Airflow, and Databricks.
- Ensure efficient data transformations, data cleaning, and enrichment processes to maintain data quality and accessibility.
- Implement data product performance monitoring tools and advocate for data quality and governance.
- Collaboration and Global/North American Alignment:
- Work closely with the Global Business Intelligence team to implement new tools, processes, and techniques, fostering knowledge sharing and alignment across regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions to support local product, operations, and marketing initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.
Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the data space, with proven experience in building high-performing teams and delivering high-value analytics.
- 3+ years of people management experience or leading a data team/function.
- Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, or a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and evaluate alternative approaches.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data engineering practices, testing, and DevOps for data pipelines.
- Knowledge of data structures, data formats, and software design patterns.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive and resourceful mindset with a bias for action and attention to detail.
- Driven by the desire to make a significant positive impact on the product team and the overall business.
