About the role
We are looking for a Senior Mobile Developer to join the Letterboxd engineering team and help shape the future of our mobile platform, including iOS and Android apps. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to work on and lead new feature development, enhance and maintain existing code, and mentor others within a growing development team.
As part of the mobile engineering team, you’ll work closely with our web and backend engineers and foster a successful, productive, efficient and fun work environment. Your experience will be key in guiding technical decisions, supporting team members, and contributing to planning and quality assurance processes.
You’ll work from our office in Auckland. While we’re happy to offer flexibility around remote work, we see real value in our engineering team collaborating in person. For that reason, we’d like this role to be office-based 4-5 days per week. This newly created role reports directly to our CTO and offers the chance to make a real impact on a product loved by millions.
Who You Are
You are an experienced senior mobile developer with a strong background in building native applications for both iOS and Android. You’re passionate about learning, teamwork, and sharing your expertise. You take pride in the software you build and enjoy maintaining and enhancing it. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and value being part of a successful team.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior software engineering role with a significant mobile component; possibly 10+ years in software engineering.
- Expertise in Swift, Kotlin, and ideally in Objective C and Java.
- Attention to detail in UI/UX development.
- Significant experience in adapting to and learning new software stacks and code bases.
