Our members follow easy steps to improve their heart health and receive virtual guidance from a network of world-class cardiologists empowered with evidence-based insights. Our team consists of passionate and proven physicians, engineers, scientists, designers, and founders attacking this problem from first principles, applying human-centered design, and developing evidence-based AI to solve this global issue. We collaborate with the American College of Cardiology, and we have been recognized as one of the 150 most promising digital health startups by CB Insights. We just recently closed our Series B funding and are backed by Echo Health Ventures, DaVita Venture Group, .406 Ventures, Optum Ventures, Kindred Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, Designer Fund, and Max Ventures. Heartbeat Health is seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to join our team.
About the gig:
- Set the vision, roadmap and best practices to leverage data engineering at Heartbeat
- Partner closely with product leadership, engineers, account managers, and user researchers to conduct and analyze experiments to drive key business decisions
- Partner with key stakeholders to support the reporting needs of the business
- Draft documentation and communicate plans to senior leadership.
- Help to grow the team by interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring other software engineers for the data engineering team.
- Jump in to help the team fight any manner of fire that immediately and negatively affects the customer experience.
About you:
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering
- Demonstrate strong fundamentals in data engineering, bonus points for an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related quantitative field (statistics, economics, computer science, mathematics, etc.)
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and tools like Airflow and DBT
- Strong expertise in SQL, R, or Python
- Experience with Snowflake or other data lake / warehouse platforms
- Are broadly knowledgeable about automated deployment, agile and scrum methods, serverless implementations, and information security.
- Can work closely with team members of various backgrounds, encouraging different perspectives and feedback to constantly improve product and process.
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
