Sophos is looking for a talented junior to mid-level DevOps engineer to focus on building Sophos factory pipelines. In this role, you will be creating automation and integration content for Sophos Factory for various cybersecurity use-cases for Sophos products and broader ecosystem. You will then demonstrate their use internally and externally for our customers. Computer science fundamentals knowledge is required, e.g. data structures. Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline building, DevOps and cybersecurity tools is also required.

As our ideal candidate, you will already have had experience working on public-facing or enterprise DevOps or DevSecOps projects. You will be comfortable speaking directly with stakeholders, customers and incorporating customer feedback in your work.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement DevSecOps automation pipelines in Sophos Factory that may include things like deploying infrastructure, vulnerability scanning, remediation and automating business processes.
• Build and maintain public solution catalogs of pipeline solutions demonstrating pipeline best practices as well as showcasing Sophos Factory capabilities. 
• Design and deploy cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code like Cloud Formation, GCP templates, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, and Helm charts.
• Interact with cloud resources with tools like kubectl, AWS CLI, and Azure CLI.
• Incorporate security tools in to pipelines like Hashicorp Vault, CIS-CAT Assessor, Bridge crew’s Chekov, Aqua Sec, Trivvy, Sophos Cloud Optix and more.
• Leverage your coding skills to write scripts in Shell, Python, PowerShell, and others.
• Interface with 3rd party APIs, web hooks, and CLIs to create custom integrations.
• Present live demos to peers and customers while explaining functionality and benefits of your solutions.
• Record a variety of videos ranging from simple how-to content to highly technical deep dives.
• Provide professional services by architecting and implementing customs solutions for customers.
• Contribute to customer support by answering customer questions via email, chat, or live web meetings and bringing the customer’s feedback to the development team.
• Work closely with other software engineers on the team, providing design feedback, opening issues, and making feature requests. 
• Develop written technical product documentation for customers and documentation of DevOps pipelines and infrastructure. 

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years’ experience or equivalent proficiency in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or other IT automation categories
• Proficiency in computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline, or equivalent foundational knowledge
• Experience with web technologies including HTTP and TCP/IP network stacks
• Ability to lead new DevSecOps initiatives from inception to completion
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with a senior-level team
• Experience working with:
• Public cloud APIs and public cloud templating systems such as AWS Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager
• Tools including Hashicorp Terraform and Helm Experience
• Configuration management systems such as Red Hat Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, PowerShell DSC, etc.
• Automated security and policy tools, such as Open SCAP, CIS-CAT Pro, Open Policy Agent, Inspec, etc.
• Containerized solution delivery, e.g., with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift, etc.
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages, such as Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript, Rust, Java, C/C++, etc.
