North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre (NSVSC) is seeking an experienced Emergency & Critical Care Specialist to join and further develop our established ECC service.

About us

NSVSC is a leading 24/7 multidisciplinary referral hospital located on Sydney's North Shore. Our specialists in surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, exotics, cardiology and oncology work alongside experienced emergency clinicians and highly skilled nurses to deliver exceptional patient care in a truly collaborative environment.

Our associated General Practice service manages first-opinion consultations and walk-in emergencies, allowing our ECC team to focus on the patients who truly require specialist critical care and advanced intervention.

Our purpose-built facility is equipped to support the highest standard of ECC medicine, including:

  • Fully equipped in-house laboratory (biochemistry, haematology and blood gas)
  • Comprehensive diagnostic imaging — two ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, a 128-slice GE CT scanner and a Siemens 1.5T MRI
  • Mindray ventilators
  • Fluoroscopy and endoscopy
  • Three fully equipped operating theatres
  • In-house blood bank with blood product preparation capabilities
  • Dedicated ICU with cot beds and oxygen cages
  • VECCS Level II Accreditation

About the Role

As a Criticalist, you'll play a pivotal role in both clinical leadership and service development. Working alongside our multidisciplinary specialist team, you'll manage complex ECC cases while helping shape the future direction of the service.

About you

  • Diplomate status (ACVECC, ECVECC, FANZCVS ECC, or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for veterinary registration in New South Wales
  • A passion for mentoring, collaboration and delivering exceptional patient care
  • A desire to help grow a progressive ECC service
