Veterinarian - 9-Month Fixed Term Contract (Late October 2026 Start)
Pet Doctors Howick is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinarian to join our welcoming East Auckland team on a 9-month fixed-term contract commencing late October 2026.
Located in the heart of Howick, our clinic is proud to be part of a vibrant local community, just minutes from beautiful beaches, cafés, shops, markets, and walking spots. We work with loyal, family-oriented clients who see their pets as part of the family.
Our inclusive and supportive team enjoys collaborating, sharing ideas, and providing a high standard of patient care. The clinic is well-equipped with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, IDEXX diagnostics, modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment, fluid pumps, spacious consult rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas, and dedicated surgical facilities.
About the role:
- Work alongside another experienced Vet - only 1 day per week sole charge
Light shared Saturday morning roster - no sunday's or on-call
Full-time preferred, with flexibility to discuss part-time options
Great balance of consults & surgeries
About You
- BVSc (or equivalent) and eligible for New Zealand veterinary registration
3+ years' experience in small animal practice
- Confident with routine consults and surgery
- Comfortable with occasional sole charge
- A positive team player who enjoys a collaborative clinic culture
