TLDR

Design and test 5G FWA features, implement embedded C or C++ code, and support global deployment and maintenance of broadband access solutions.

The Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Business Line plays a crucial role in developing global broadband access device products, with  focus on FWA and home connectivity solutions. Based in Athens, Greece, the FWA team designs and tests new features for 5G FWA products, delivering high-quality solutions to customers worldwide. Working in this dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to hone your skills in telecommunications, contributing to the evolution of last-mile 5G networks and collaborating with stakeholders across the globe.

As a member of the team, you will be part of a globally distributed organization that places strong emphasis on technical excellence, team spirit, and achieving customer satisfaction through high-quality, timely deliveries.

The organization is evolving. While no final decisions have been taken, Nokia is planning to divest the FWA CPE unit towards end of 2026 and this role is planned to be moving to Inseego Corp. together with the rest of the FWA CPE unit. Please check here for more information!

  • Analyze, design, and implement new features following FWA SW architecture guidelines and quality standards.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while implementing unit/module tests.
  • Contribute to documentation and internal error analysis and resolution.
  • Resolve static and dynamic code analysis issues to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Resolve internal/Customer errors analysis and resolution in timely and qualitative manner.
  • Develop new methodologies and tools to improve overall software quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feature development aligns with customer requirements.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of software solutions globally.
     

Must have:

  • BSc or MSc in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical background with proven experience in C or C++ software development.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and embedded software development.
  • Experience with software versioning systems such as Git, GitLab, or Gerrit.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) frameworks such as Jenkins
  • Good understanding of Linux-based operating systems and building tools (such as Make/Makefile frameworks).
  • Knowledge or experience in 3GPP, TCP/IP networking, 4G/5G radio or packet core, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TR-069, TR-369, TR-143, Data Collection (Statistics /Performance), EthWan interfaces, application service modules, L2/L3 forwarding/routing protocols and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and prioritize tasks in a geographically distributed team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multinational environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to work.

Nice to have:

  • 3+ years of successful software development experience and understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology.
  • Hands-on experience with multithreading
  • Hands-on experience with event driven programming
