Software Engineer

Houseplans LLC is looking for a great Software Engineer who wants to lead front-end development.
This is an opportunity to work from the start on a completely new rebuild of our core platform. You will work closely with our CTO to re-platform our site and take over day to day operation and improvement after launch. You will work with a team of skilled, creative designers and developers who understand the value of writing clean, scalable code that sets the standard for the industry. This is also a great opportunity to learn and broaden your skill set through mentoring by some of the most experience engineers in the industry.
As a Senior Engineer you will play a central role in the design, development and delivery of a our core application and all subsequent improvements.
This is an "in office" job. Telecommuting is not possible for this position.
Qualified candidates will have:
- 2+ years professional software development experience
- 2+ years of professional Java web development
- Experience in working with MVC framework, such as Spring, Struts, J2EE, Play and etc.
- Working expertise in MySQL, Linux, ElasticSearch, Scala and Play Framework is a plus.
- Working expertise in HTML5/CSS3, Javascript and JQuery.
- Experience organizing large and evolving sites.
- Experience working on Agile teams
- BA/BS Computer Science or a technical/quantitative degree (or equivalent
- skills)

- Mobile application development skills
