About the Role:

The Software Platform team strives to accelerate developer velocity and increase system stability by building the foundational software platforms and tools that power the rest of Robinhood engineering. We’re looking for driven software engineers who are excited by the opportunity to own mission-critical infrastructure, and are passionate about amplifying their impact by improving the reliability, scalability, and usability of the infrastructure and tools at Robinhood.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Working with a dedicated mentor to ramp up on infrastructure at Robinhood
• Building, deploying, and augmenting tools and systems that provide core technical capabilities across all Robinhood microservices
• Diagnosing and driving fixes for performance and reliability issues that emerge at scale
• Participating in the design and execution of large initiatives to unlock new capabilities and paradigms for Robinhood microservices

About you:

• Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2021
• Solid CS fundamentals, ideally with coursework or experience in distributed systems, operating systems, and networking
• Grit and tenacity to dive into novel systems and technologies, identifying problems and building impactful solutions
• Interest in building software to help other engineers, eliminating pain points, improving quality/stability, and reducing toil

Bonus points:

• Prior internship or project experience where you dove into cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) or developer tools
