The successful candidate will play a key role in developing service and modernization solutions for automated intralogistics systems, supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their installations. Working closely with customers, sales teams, project managers and engineering departments, the Solution Development Engineer will translate customer requirements into technically sound and commercially competitive solutions that improve system performance, reliability and operational efficiency.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be 44.625 - 65.450 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills
Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical solutions for modernization, retrofit, expansion and lifecycle management projects related to automated material handling and intralogistics systems.
- Analyze customer requirements and define solution concepts in cooperation with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including scope definition, budget estimation and project planning.
- Support Customer Service and Sales teams in identifying and developing business opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities involving mechanical, electrical, controls, software, installation and project management teams.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, layouts and proposal material.
- Contribute to project execution planning, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and internal milestones.
- Evaluate technical alternatives, request quotations and support cost calculations.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability and customer experience.
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to promote standardization and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety and process standards.
Requirements
- University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering with a focus on logistics (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience in solution development, project engineering, service engineering, technical sales support or similar roles within industrial automation, intralogistics, material handling or related industries.
- Understanding of automated systems and industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical and control system concepts.
- Ability to translate customer needs into practical and cost-effective technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international environments.
- High level of ownership, customer focus and result orientations
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
- Fluent written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus)
