Job Title

Sr. UX Telemetry Expert - Technical Implementation

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to elevate the quality of the insights we get into how people truly use and experience our products by building the technical foundations for UX Telemetry from within the Usability Center of Excellence. Rather than concentrating on standard analytics implementations, the focus will be on creating telemetry architectures that can capture meaningful behaviors, clinical workflow patterns, user journeys, and friction points across a diverse Healthtech ecosystem.

To achieve this, you have the opportunity to drive the technical implementation of UX Telemetry across products in the Philips portfolio, meaning you are involved in defining the right telemetry architecture, event structures, tracking logic, implementation approach, data quality checks, and analytical readiness. You will help ensure telemetry is scalable across different product types, architectures, and hardware environments, while also enabling more advanced analytics over time.

Your role:

You are responsible for the technical implementation of UX Telemetry, to capture meaningful behaviors, user journeys, and experience patterns across multiple products and platforms.

  • Guide the translation of business and UX questions into telemetry data needs, measurement frameworks, and tracking plans, ensuring consistency across products.

  • Partner with Product, UX, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Risk Management, and System Architects to shape feasible UX Telemetry strategies aligned with product and workflow objectives.

  • Provide architectural guidance for implementing telemetry across diverse environments (web, cloud, desktop, device-connected, and on-premise systems).

  • Define and maintain telemetry architecture principles, event taxonomies, and instrumentation standards that enable scalable and reusable data collection.

  • Provide guidance to engineering teams on telemetry instrumentation approaches, implementation quality, and validation, ensuring reliable and consistent data collection.

  • Build and maintain the technical foundations required for dashboards and insight generation, including metric logic, event validation, and data readiness.

  • Explore and prototype advanced analytics, predictive analytics, and AI-supported approaches that strengthen UX Telemetry capabilities over time.

  • Promote privacy-aware and consent-aware telemetry design, ensuring alignment with data minimization and compliant analytics practices in regulated healthtech environments.

You're the right fit if:

  • MSc degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Design Technology, Data-driven UX Design, OR proven equivalent level of analytical, technical, and strategical thinking.

  • 7+ years in digital product, analytics implementation, design engineering, or related roles

  • Experience in working with industry-grade analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Pendo, and preferably Amplitude Analytics).

  • Strong conceptual understanding of technical architectures and software implementation patterns, with the ability to guide telemetry implementation across different environments.

  • Hands-on front-end programming skills (e.g. React, Angular, or similar) and affinity with instrumentation in code.

  • Experience defining event schemas, telemetry taxonomies, tracking logic, and implementation requirements.

  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to work with telemetry data structures, validate data quality, and support scalable dashboarding and analysis.

  • Experience or strong affinity with advanced analytics, predictive analytics, and AI-supported analytical workflows.

  • Strong communication skills in English, preferably also Dutch, with the ability to explain technical implementation choices to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles and compliant analytics implementation in regulated environments.

  • Strong affinity with Usability and Human Factors is a pre.

You will be part of the Usability Center of Excellence, that works across businesses as part of Innovation & Design. The team focuses on elevating the quality of experience insights and enabling stronger evidence-based product and UX decisions across the Philips portfolio. Your role will focus predominantly on the technical foundations of UX Telemetry. Next to the team, you’ll be part of an award-winning global community of over 400 design professionals and will collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines.
