TLDR
Produce Statements of Work, estimates, and proposals that align customer requirements, delivery approaches, risks, and commercial objectives.
Join MRI Software as a Project Scoping Specialist and play a pivotal role in defining how our clients engage with Professional Services.
Working at the intersection of Sales, Professional Services, Product, and Delivery teams, you will be responsible for producing high-quality Statements of Work, service estimates and consultancy proposals that set projects up for success from day one.
We are looking for an individual who can apply sound commercial judgement, logical thinking, and practical delivery experience to define successful customer engagements. You will be comfortable identifying risks, challenging assumptions, balancing competing priorities, and making recommendations that support both customer success and sustainable delivery outcomes.
You will work with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure opportunities are appropriately scoped, estimated, governed, and positioned for successful execution before they enter delivery.
Please note that this role requires working UK business hours (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 BST/GMT) to support the global team.
We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Cape Town office.
Key responsibilities:
Produce Professional Services Statements of Work across multiple MRI products and service offerings.
Create accurate services estimates, documenting assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks, and scope boundaries.
Translate customer requirements into clear, practical, and deliverable consultancy and implementation engagements.
Ensure proposals accurately reflect agreed delivery approaches, timelines, and resource requirements.
Assess the commercial viability of proposed engagements, identifying risks, assumptions, and potential delivery challenges.
Apply sound commercial judgement when determining scope, effort, resource requirements and implementation approaches.
Constructively challenge ambiguities, assumptions, and inconsistencies to improve proposal quality and delivery success.
Support contractual discussions, Statements of Work reviews, and proposal redline activities.
Ensure opportunities are positioned for successful delivery whilst balancing customer expectations, delivery requirements, and commercial objectives.
Work closely with Sales teams throughout the sales cycle, supporting opportunity qualification, solution scoping and proposal development.
Collaborate with Consulting, Project Management, Product Management, and Delivery teams to validate proposed approaches.
Build strong working relationships across multiple departments and regions to ensure consistency and alignment.
Ensure engagements entering delivery are appropriately scoped, estimated, and documented.
Promote consistency and quality across all Professional Services proposals and Statements of Work.
Support the application of agreed estimation, approval and engagement governance processes.
Work collaboratively with delivery teams to capture lessons learned and improve future estimation accuracy and implementation planning.
Help reduce delivery risk through strong governance, challenge and engagement planning practices.
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency across all service proposals.
Contribute to the ongoing development of estimation models, service catalogues, templates, and proposal frameworks.
Support improvements to implementation methodologies, governance processes, and delivery best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve estimation accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
Requirements:
Experience within Professional Services, Consulting, Software Delivery, Pre-Sales, Solution Design, Project Management, or a related environment.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer, delivery, and business objectives.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex requirements and scenarios.
