Supply Chain Manager - Vehicle

Supply Chain Manager - Vehicle

 In light of our expansion, we are in need of a Supply Chain mananger who can focus solely on the vehicle components. This person will lead strategic sourcing for vehicle systems, including body, chassis, interiors, exteriors and various other subsystems as assigned, issuing and evaluating RFQs, commercial issues and negotiations, cost reduction opportunities and overall supplier management.

What You'll Do

• Lead purchasing initiatives for vehicle direct materials and integration services
• Pro-actively engage with Engineering and Finance stakeholders to consolidate a 3-5 years technology and product costing roadmap to support Zoox’s vehicle development program and launch timeline
• Map the supply chain for vehicle components, lead the process of data collection (Milestone adherence, Change orders, etc…) and build supplier performance assessments to support sourcing decisions
• Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for vehicle commodities to develop sourcing strategy
• Drive cost transparency and build total cost of ownership models to support sourcing decisions
• Ensure optimal contract coverage for the commodity in partnership with legal support
• Build strategic relationship with key suppliers and act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues
• Review, analyze and clarify quote packages from suppliers
• Manage internal stakeholders with respect to supplier selection and management
• Identify other sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes and resourcing
• Build and develop a supporting team that will scale to support the goals of the business 
• Mentor and develop junior team members

What We Need

• Experience with automotive materials a plus; including body, chassis, interiors, exteriors
• At least five (5) years’ experience in Purchasing in a Manufacturing environment (Automotive is a plus)
• Top bachelor’s degree required, Masters/MBA preferred
• Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations (Purchasing/Service Agreements) skills
• Excellent communications skills with ability to influence cross functional stakeholders: Engineering, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, & Logistics.
• Excellent analytical and judgment skills.  Advanced Excel skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement
• Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
• Organizational skills to manage and track transactional details
